Band of Skulls is one of the gems of NXNE 2009. The trio from Southhampton UK got international attention when their hit track “I Know What I am” was crowned single of the week. Russell Marsden and Emma Richardson, guitar and bass respectively, are both vocalist and together they create a dynamic ambience to their set. Matthew Hayward on drums also put on a great gig as he didn’t miss a beat. BoS’s style of hard rock and blues grunge with a modern flair is refreshing.
The Mod club theatre was just dying to hear this band play in Toronto at NXNE. The lighting was just brilliant in the mod as usual and there wasn’t much difficulty capturing these guys on camera. I personally love this band, and feel that they indeed have a big future in store for them and cannot wait to see them live again.
Their full-length album entitled “Baby Darling Doll Face Honey “ will be released on September 1st, 2009 in Canada. Go check them out NOW!
