NXNE 2010: The Envy @ Supermarket

The Envy was at the Supermarket’s nxne showcase on Friday night. They recently signed to Gene Simmons’ Canadian label and should have an album release soon. With songs like the catchy U2-esque Don’t Let Go and the backing of a determined Simmons it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the five piece band.

I’ve seen The Envy a few times live and have always walked away impressed. Shaun Frank(vocals, guitar) relishes in the role of frontman spending what feels like half of the performance up close and personal to his audience while bandmates V0ID (guitar), Jonny Biggs(keys), Bodan Mullholland(bass), and Izzy Centeno(drums) provide a fully powered rock backdrop. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot from them very soon.
