English singer-songwriter, Olly Murs, had every girl wearing their heart on their sleeve at the Phoenix Concert Theatre for his first headline show in Toronto
Looking smooth in a fedora, black jacket, grey t-shirt and black jeans, Murs opened with “Army of Two” and “Dance With Me” followed by “Personal”. Girls swooned and screamed as he strutted across the stage with his slick dance moves. Playing the entire Right Place Right Time album, Murs never missed a note and his band didn’t skip a beat.
When he wasn’t singing, Olly was tossing out trivia about himself at the crowd and turning down offers to take off his shirt. Murs reminded the audience about his time on X-Factor UK prompting an impressive cover of Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, which was the song he sang at his audition.
All in all, Olly Murs and his incredible band produced an entertaining show for his Toronto fans. He is a true showman who could possibly have a solid future in the North American pop scene.
