inFamous: Second Son takes the superhero experience to a whole new level.
In this title of the widely popular series, we see a new character. Delsin Rowe, a member of the fictional Akomish Native American tribe.
Unlike the previous two titles, the main character has the ability to switch between multiple different powers at pretty much any time throughout the game. Instead of elemental powers such as water and fire, we see things such as smoke, neon, video and concrete abilities. Which makes things very interesting and fun. Each one of these powers has pros and cons and of course, there are times when one needs to be used instead of another.
The events of this game take place seven years after inFamous 2’s “good ending” and is set in Seattle, Washington. With many conduits killed or on the run after what went down in the second game, the government put together the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) to further lock up the remaining population of these “bio-terrorists”.
Seattle is a music treasure trove in the real world and it was definitely difficult seeing all the destruction there. Side missions include creating beautiful spray art on the sides of buildings. While tedious sometimes, its really cool to see what the final painting looks like. Think Banksy.
Of course, you the user decide if Delsin becomes a hero or villain in the game. You can chose to revive citizens or knock them out of your way.
The physics and mechanics of these game are top notch. The entire open world experience is an absolutely job to fly or run around in. And a lot of the boss battles are really thrilling. My favourite one was against “the one who dwells”, the giant angel.
The voice acting is also superb. But the best part about this game are the graphics. The particle effects for smoke and neon powers is absolutely stunning. This is the first Playstation 4 title actually worthy of being called a full next-generation game.
