The reason why everyone swamped the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre Monday night was because of one man. The prince of Canada and lover of lint rollers himself, Drake aka Drizzy.
I admit that I felt completely out of the place between the uber hip-hop and rap crowd. However, once photographers go to their spots at the soundboard, things got fun. Despite having to shoot through fog machine smoke and the lack of front lighting,
While Drizzy’s style of music may not be something I’m a huge fan of, I can definitely see why so many people do. He has charisma, charm and great stage presence. I remember watching him act on Degrassi and he has come such a long way. He is passionate and persistant in his craft and owns it.
In past years, Drake has brought surprise artists such as Kanye West, Jay Z and Stevie Wonder out. This year at his own acclaimed OVO Festival, he brought up Usher, 50 Cent and G-Unit. However, what I feel was the most genuine and coolest part of the show was when he brought out a super special guest, his own mother to kick off his set. Drake is a huge shining star, there is no doubt about that. But he is also down to earth and a fun guy at heart.
