The Weeknd, Schoolboy Q at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre

Opening Sunday night in Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre was Schoolboy Q. Originally born in Germany, this hip-hop rapper now resides in LA. He was recently nominated as Best new Artist at the BET awards. Be sure to keep an eye on Q.

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, lit up Toronto with his stellar voice. The 24 year old upcoming PBR&B star has received high critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. Toronto’s own internationally regarded artist Drake also loves The Weeknd as he has been brought to OVO Fest as a special guest in the past. The two have also collaborated on mixes.
