Chad Brownlee at The Mod Club

Toronto: For a former professional Hockey player, Chad Brownlee has developed into a pretty amazing Canadian Country music star! His Hockey career started by being drafted by  The Vancouver Canucks.  He played in ECHL before he switched his skates and stick to a Guitar.

Chad Brownlee is on his across Canadian tour called “ When The Light Go Down Tour” with 27 Dates starting March 4th in PEI and ending April 4 in BC. Chad Brings along 2014 CCMA Female artist of the year Jess Moskaluke, 2013 CCMA Rising Star of the Year Bobby Wills.

Bobby Wills starts the evening playing some if his old favourites’ Undressed,  Crazy Enough,  mixed in with a few new tracks and a few stories.  Wills ended his even with a duet  with Jess Moskaluke which was the beginning of her set.  Very smooth transition for the Intimate setting. Jess went back and played one of her first song she ever uploaded to You Tube for a special fan! |Then she played the crowd favourite Cheap Wine and Cigarettes.

After a short break, and a well-deserved one for the band, it was time, the bands  came back out, you hear the cheers from the crowd and then after a slight pause   Chad Brownlee crosses the blue line, Brownlee skates around defender, he is  all alone,  he shoots he scores just like if it was Saturday night Hockey night in Canada with Jim Hughson the Chad walks out on stage …..

Chad started with “Smoke in the Rain” that got the crowd singing and didn’t stop played all of favourites like ”Hood of My Car” , Thinking out Loud and  “Listen” (My Favourite) then he told us about a very special project.  If you know Chad, he is all about Tim Horton’s Children Foundation; he has a Handmade Guitar made out of Sherwood Hockey Sticks called The Fighter that will be auctioned off after the tour ends. The current bid is up to $1500.  There will be signatures also on this guitar but Chad has not revealed who they will be.

What would be a Canadian Country music concert without a little interaction with the fans?  So he brought two stools, out and brought one lucky fan up on stage that he was going to sing too. Tonight was lucky winner Lori as Chad first picked was stage shy and was just happy to meet him off to the side.

Staying with Hockey theme for this tour, Chad teamed up with The local Country Music station KX947 and ran a contest for one lucky winner and three friends to play 4 on 4 hockey game against Chad, Jess, Bobby and on air radio host Linda Martelli.
