Bike Thiefs are a three piece noisy rock band that kind of sound like a hybrid of Pixies, Queens of the Stone Age and METZ.
The band is releasing a feedback-laden cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.” After seeing them perform the song live, producer/engineer Nick Ginn (Rarity, The Deadly Hopefuls) implored the band to come to his Hamilton studio and record the song.
The band thrashes and yelps their way through the rockabilly classic, while still have managing to infuse a touch of country folk themselves. It sounds like an odd combination but singer/guitarist Marko Woloshyn believes what he is selling and it all comes together nicely. Give it a listen, as it sounds both very familiar but also new and exciting at the same time. The band is touring Eastern Canada through the rest of the spring as you can see below.
