X Ambassadors with Rayland Baxter at CityFolk 2016 – Day 4

The last day of the festival brought out the Nashville folk singer Rayland Baxter to the BMO stage. After a late start due to a seemingly complicated sound check, the singer, accompanied by his band played a charming performance of songs from his album Imaginary Man. I have been a recent fan of this artist, and was especially glad to hear him play Yellow Eyes on his own. He then had the band return for a more upbeat performance of his more popular song Mr. Rodriguez.

Closing off a great weekend of music was the spirited performance of the American rock band, X Ambassadors. The band started the show with a loud, lively energy as they performed their track Loveless, and kept it up this spirit throughout the whole set. They had the crowd singing along with their chilling performance of Unsteady, and Ended off with the popular hit Renegades. Lead singer Sam Harris transitioned each song with inspiring stories of how they came to be, and graced the audience with his crystal clear voice. Their performance acted as an awesome close out to the festival, ending the four-day long event with a bang.

A shout-out to CityFolk 2016, Marvest, and all of the volunteers who made the weekend possible. It was undoubtedly a successful weekend and I’m very excited to see what next year has in store.
