Though the unseasonally warm weather this week seems to suggest otherwise, the time to
welcome the dark nights of winter is fast-approaching here in Toronto. Two individuals who seem more than ready to rush in the new season are R&B crooners PartyNextDoor and Jeremih, who are joining forces on the upcoming Summer’s Over tour.
Kicking off in Miami on November 8th, the tour will take the duo across the United States with a two-night stay in Toronto at the newly opened Rebel (formerly Sound Academy) on November 24th and 25th. While some may hope for a Drake appearance (afterall, PartyNextDoor is a Toronto-native and OVO Sound signee), there are plenty of reasons to come out to see both acts for a deep dose of hazy, moody R&B.
Collaborative credits aside (PND co-wrote Rihanna’s “Work” and Jeremih ruled the charts with 50 Cent and YG), this tour promises the best of some of the most notable R&B acts in the last few years. Between Jeremih’s soon-to-be-released album Later That Night, PND’s 2016 release, PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 and a rumoured collaborative album between the two entitled Late Night Party, this may also be the tour to hear fresh music first as well as catch the songs that make your late night drives much more bearable. The two Toronto shows are currently listed as sold-out, guaranteeing a very packed Rebel to sing along to Jeremih’s “Planes” and PartyNextDoor’s “Right Now” – with a few jaw-dropping vocal riffs from both artists, we’re sure.
