Epica with Fleshgod Apocalypse and The Agonist at the Phoenix Concert Theatre

Dutch Symphonic metal band Epica performed at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto last night. With their new album The Holographic Principle in hand, the band took the fans by storm as they performed a set list consisting of old classics and new favourites.

Epica’s performance was very unique, as Simone Simons’s vocals compliments the heaviness of the band and the intense growls of guitarist Mark Jansen, in a way I could have never imagined on my own. It was also interesting to hear how grand they sound live, as it was unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced. Simons captivated the hearts of everyone in the venue with her powerful voice as she gracefully danced across the stage, making sure to make eye contact with every fan along the front of the barricade.

As the night came to a close, the band ended their set with ‘Beyond The Matrix’ and ’Consign to Oblivion’
