Kat Von D’s Everlasting Glimmer Veil

I was pretty excited when Kat Von D Beauty announced their Everlasting Glimmer Veils, as sometimes you just need a little something extra for your lipstick to ‘pop!’ and these sounded the perfect solution.

I often tend to stay away from glitter toppers as I find that they stay wet on my lips and never really set. This wasn’t the case with the Everlasting Glimmer Veils; they dried down and literally felt like nothing on my lips! Another big thing is that I’m always worried about being left with a ‘gritty’ feeling after putting something glittery on, but luckily that was not the case and I am thoroughly impressed with how they looked and felt on my lips.

These lippies have a liquid stain base and can be worn on their own or on top of another lipstick as a “veil”. The two shades that I picked up were Reverb and Televator. Both of them had a medium, buildable coverage with only a single layer; which is great since you can decide how glitterly you’d like your look to be. Given the amount of staining this product leaves behind, I prefer using them with a dark based lipstick to get the same eye catching effect but less of a stain and glitter mess to get rid of later. I also find by layering them on top of another lipstick they tend to last longer. Even though these are supposed to be 24HR wear, I find that they need to be touched up quite frequently and even just plain old water will cause this product to start coming off. The left side of the swatches is a single swipe of the product on it’s own, while the right side is on top of a dark liquid lipstick that has been set.

You can pick up Kat Von D’s Everlasting Glimmer Veils at Sephora for $30 CAD each
