Over the Summer I started a new series on LiL about my Beauty Hits + Misses, now I’ve finally accumulated enough product for another installment (you can check out Pt 1 + 2 here ) and I’m excited to share which ones I thought were worth it and which ones I won’t be picking up a refill of.
NEUTROGENA DEEP CLEAN Gentle Scrub ( $9 at Walmart )
First off, I love the scent of this. It reminds me of Sunny D and is really refreshing. The scrub is significantly more gentle than their Oil-Free Grapefruit Acne Wash and it does the trick, but I find that I need to use a lot more product to get the same coverage. So if your skin can handle the Grapefruit scrub I would suggest going for that one first. But if not, this is a close 2nd in terms of affordable scrubs go. I had no problems with it drying out my skin and it did leave it feeling fresh and smooth.
Lush’s Aloe Bamboo Sugar Cleanser Roll ( $13.95 )
I have a love hate relationship with this product. It’s an amazing scrub that has a lot of grit to it and the lemongrass scent is magical, but I found that it does not store well. I haven’t figured out a solution to this problem yet, but the moisture from the bathroom leaves the roll constantly wet and it kind of melts and makes a mess over time. I never take the whole roll into the shower, always just break a piece off while my hands are still dry which is what made me to believe it was the moisture of the washroom that caused it. I purchased a 2nd roll just to see if it will do the same thing if I store it in an air tight container in a different cupboard.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’62 Bum Bum Hair & Body Fragrance Mist ( $26 at Sephora )
Every time I wear this as hair perfume I get compliments about how nice my hair smells. It lasts practically the whole day in my hair, so if you love the signature Caramel and Pistachio scent of Sol de Janeiro this would be perfect for you.
The Ordinary. Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toning Solution ( $8.70 at Sephora )
The couple of months that I’ve been using this toner, I’ve noticed a difference in the texture of my face. It’s a lot smoother and pretty glowy when I wake up. It does sting a little, so if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing it might be too harsh for you, but apart from that I found this toner to be a great change in my routine. Plus it seems like the bottle has been around forever, a little goes a long way.
Ardell Multipack Naked Lashes in #424 ( $26 at Walmart )
I’ve always been nervous to try glue on lashes in the fear that I would have a mishap and one will fall off while I’m out and about without realizing one was missing. I eventually bit the bullet when I didn’t have time to get my lashes redone before a wedding I attended in October, and I’ve officially been converted. When picking these lashes out, I was a bit worried that they would make me look like Snuffaluffagus, but it turns out I was worried for nothing as they looked stunningly natural when applied. I also didn’t have any issues with them falling off or flying away. They stayed in place for the whole event and really helped to pull my makeup together.
