Multi-platinum band Young the Giant have released their new single, “Different Kind Of Love”. Produced by Brendan O’Brien (AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan) and Young the Giant, and written by the band collectively, the new song is a plea for optimism and love in increasingly cynical times. Young the Giant is also premiering the official music video for the new track, directed by George Gallardo Kattah.
Speaking on the new single, lead singer Sameer Gadhia shared, “In a world inundated by either unprecedented catastrophe or mind-numbing distraction, ‘Different Kind Of Love’ reminds us that all hope is not lost. It’s an invitation to lead with empathy, to care deeply even when it’s easier to shut down or turn away. At a time when cynicism feels like the default, this song believes that hope and unconditional love aren’t naïve, but their own form of extreme resistance.”
In addition to the new release, Young the Giant also announced their sixth studio album, Victory Garden, out May 1 — pre-order it here. The forthcoming album is also produced by Brendan O’Brien and Young the Giant, and will be the band’s first full-length release since their 2022 album, American Bollywood. Today’s single is a cornerstone of the new album and previews what to expect from the full-length release this May, both thematically and stylistically.
Both the single and the upcoming album will be released under Fearless Records, as the band recently signed a new record deal with the label. Of the partnership, Andy Serrao (Chief Creative Officer, Concord Label Group/Fearless Records) shared, “I’m incredibly excited to have Young the Giant at Fearless Records after being a huge fan for over 15 years. We’re proud to be part of this chapter of the bands’ career and honored to be working with them on such a special album.”
