Josiah and the Bonnevilles Releases New Single “Going Gone”

East Tennessee-native Josiah and the Bonnevilles released a new single “Going Gone” from his forthcoming album As Is, arriving May 8 via Rounder Records. A rueful reflection on a love that moved too fast to last, the song traces a fading relationship through vivid snapshots of youth: “Home run ball, my last paycheck, that shot of Jim, this cigarette, teenage years, gas in the tank, the plans we made, your shadow on the lawn.”

“Going Gone” follows the release of “Mountain Girl” (co-written with Natalie Hemby) and “Hell Without The Flames,” which was released alongside the official video directed by George Gallardo Kattah and filmed in Bogota, Columbia. The song was named a “Song You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone, and was praised by All Country News, Billboard, Country Central, Holler, Whiskey Riff and many more.

As Is was co-produced by Josiah Leming and Konrad Snyder, and marks his first full length album release since his 2023 breakthrough, Endurance. The ten songs that comprise the album were whittled down from nearly 100 songs written over the last year. Instead of reproducing the signature sound he honed on Endurance, he decided to expand it. “I think it would have been hard to keep my excitement to go out on the road with another acoustic record.” The album finds him going more electric than ever before, even as he unplugs from the digital world. “I needed to work quietly away from the internet. I felt like it was important to pull back this last year and try to understand what’s on my heart.”
