Perry played a variety of songs which included her hit singles “Hot N Cold”, “Waking Up In Vegas” and before performing “I Kissed A Girl”, she invited a shirtless Brian Grant (a fan) to the stage for a hug and kiss but scared him off when she told them her husband (actor/comedian Russell Brand) was backstage. She preformed an acoustic version of “Thinking of You” while hoisted up on pink cloud in middle of the arena.
The highlight of the night was when she played her newer material. For “Firework” she surprised the crowd with actual fireworks while singing every note perfectly. Dressed in a glittery cat suit for “E.T.”, the crowd sang along as the lyrics appeared across the screen and lasers flicker throughout the arena. She invited fans onto the stage as she covered Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody”. But Perry saved the best for last! She ended with an encore performance of “California Gurls” with beach balls, dancing gingerbread men, a giant purple cat, glitter confetti, and a spray gun with foam.
Katy Perry is definitely an entertainer. She’s not afraid to be goofy and imaginative. Perry showed much love to her dedicated fan base. She gave the 14,000 attendees a special treat. You left with more memories than you could have imagined. If you weren’t, you surely missed out.
