Highs at Lee’s Palace

Toronto band, Highs hosted their album release party at Lee’s Palace on Saturday, April 30th.

Having been on the scene for a few years now, Highs has been hard at work on their debut album, Dazzle Camouflage, with producer Luke Smith (Depeche Mode and Foals).  The album is a mixture of what summer feels like, with lead single “I Do, Do You?” released in February and over 24,000 views on YouTube for the official video.

The album translated well to their live set, as the crowd swayed to the tunes and the band took the time to thank everyone for the support between songs.  The stage was decked out in floral print, which was also used in the “I Do, Do You?” video.  Highs’ live sets have the ability to make you feel like you know every song even if it is your first time hearing it.  A big hit of the night was when they played their 2013 track “Summer Dress” with the crowd yelling the lyrics back to the band and lead singer Doug letting them sing for him.

Overall, Highs are off to great start to the summer with Dazzle Camouflage.  The night ended well, with an encore of two songs as the band took in the full room of fans who clearly were not ready for the set to end.
