Watch the Official Trailer for Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner 2049

This trailer is the wet dream of every Sci-fi filmmaker of the last 50 years. Leto’s opening voice over bemoaning the limits of a “disposable work force” reminds old fans and new of the separation between the real and the created. The rest of the trailer brings this separation into question as images of projected holograms mesh with actors and actresses that beg the question; who is human? Visually, we’re taken from color-rich desert scapes to burning cars and a pulsing city, a fully created world we are being allowed into. Not to mention, Harrison Ford. To avoid spoiling anything, I won’t mention the major question the first film danced around, but it looks as though this iteration may answer it once and for all.
