Big Time Rush at Air Canada Centre – 02/26/2012

Big Time Rush (also known as BTR) is an American boy band formed in Los Angeles California, in
2009. The band consists of members Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan
Henderson. Big Time Rush was created through the Nickelodeon television series with the same
name. The band released its debut album, BTR in October 2010. It peaked at number 3 on the
Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
for sales of over 500,000 copies. A second studio album, Elevate, was released on November
21, 2011

Fans will be able to see the music and TV sensations, on hiatus from their hit series, as they
embark on their first-ever headlining multi-city concert tour performing new songs like “If I
Ruled the World” and “Music Sounds Better with U “in support of their album, Elevate which
came out Nov. 21

BTR ignited their “Better with U’ Tour” In Toronto Last night at the Air Canada Centre making
it the only stop to Canada. BTR began their tour last week in Las Vegas. This tour takes them to
sixteen different cities in twenty one days, where it all wraps up March 9th at Radio City Music
Hall – New York, NY.

Several dates were sold out within minutes of the announcement. The ages ranged from little
kids and their parents to teenagers. Everywhere you looked you saw BTR shirts and Signs, some
official and some homemade.

Toronto was definitely their last night at the sold out show. BTR opened with “Big Night”, Big
time Rush (Theme) followed by “The Time of our Life.” These songs kept the energy in the ACC
alive.

Some parents actually bought tickets and took in the show alongside their teenage kids! Others
waited in a Lounge just inside gate one.

The stage had two level platforms on each end, the first platform is where the band played
which give the guys the rest of the stage to jump dance and do their moves. In the middle was
another platform with two ramps on each side, in between the ramps was a trampoline.

After about five songs the guys changed from street clothes to a black outfit trimmed in red.
Altogether they had three costume changes. After the second costume changes the band came
out and asked how many girls out there are looking for a “boyfriend” a song taken from their
first album. After that question, Sound Decibel went through the roof. The guys made their way
in to the crowed, singing, signing autographs, dancing and of course posing for photos.

After making their way back to the stage, They brought one lucky fan” Clayton” up to
sing “Cover Girl” They played a few more songs and ended it with “Elevate and City is our”

My review, very entertaining show, the band was constantly interacting with the fans. It was a
pleasant surprise, something I wasn’t expecting.
