August Burns Red, Miss May I, Northlane at Phoenix Concert Theatre

August Burns Red rolled through Toronto on Friday night with their Frozen Flame Tour. The metalcore band from Manheim, Pennsylvania brought warmth to the Phoenix concert theatre as they played a sold out show.

The band powered through their set while managing to please both new and old fans with a well diverse set list. They opened up with ‘White Washed’ which comes off of their album Constellations, and followed up with songs such as ‘Beauty in Tragedy’, ‘Provision’ and ‘The Seventh Trumpet’ . The most memorable thing about ABR’s set was their stage presence.  They captivated the crowd and kept them on their toes as they played through their set. Jake Luhrs looked as if he was commanding the crowd with his signature stances, while the band held down the fort, not missing a beat. From stage presence alone you can tell that this band is very serious and passionate about their craft but they also know how to have fun on stage and engage with their audience. If you’ve never heard of ABR before, they are definitely worth checking out live. Everywhere you looked in the Phoenix, you could see that everyone was having a good time moshing around, to the point where I thought the floor was going to break.

August Burns Red recently signed to Fearless Records and are preparing to release their new album later in the year.
