Charlie XCX rocked the Stubb’s stage during the SoundExchange showcase while being joined by producer Sophie. Set against nothing but a background of strobing lights that would flicker almost as fast as Charli would move across the stage, the show was full of non-stop intensity and Charli never seemed to slow down. The set consisted of quite a few of Sophie tracks, but also included a cover of Sylvia Striplin’s “Give Me Your Love,” a guest appearance by PC Music’s QT performing “Hey QT,” and of course Charli’s own hits such as Boom Clap and recent Sophie collaborations like “Vroom Vroom.” With huge energy and stage presence, the Charli XCX and Sophie mashup show was definitely one of the highlights of this year’s SXSW.
