Metalcore fans packed the Phoenix Concert Theatre on Monday night to help Sumerian Records celebrate their 10th Anniversary. The 10 Years in the Black Tour featured some of the bands that have helped establish Sumerian as a major metal record label over their decade of business.
Hailing from across the pond, Asking Alexandria headlined the tour. This tour was special for fans as it was the first tour with the return of vocalist Danny Worsnop. Worsnop’s departure was brief, but given the roaring of the crowd when he appeared on stage, you could tell he was greatly missed. The set list included songs such as ‘Dear Insanity’, ‘The Death of Me’, and ‘Not The American Average’. The stage presence of the band was phenomenal, as you could tell that they were all having a great time performing with each other again. The fans fed off of this energy as they moshed through the night, and occasionally chanting for Worsnop between songs. As the night came to a close, the band ended their set with ‘The Final Episode (Let’s Change The Channel)’, and ‘A Single Moment of Sincerity’.
