Video Premiere: “Once Bitten (Never Enough)” by Lauren Brombert

After a chance meeting with Denver Film School instructor Tony Pfau, Lauren Brombert asked him about the possibility of a student-led production for her video for Once Bitten (Never Enough). When he heard the song, he offered to serve as a consultant and handpicked both a director and an editor, who had been former students. He also had the idea that the song lent itself to incorporating dance. A dancer herself and part of Denver’s tango community, Brombert recognized how perfectly tango could capture the intimacy and passion of the song. She immediately proposed the idea to the founders of NaturalTango, Nick Jones and Diana Cruz, whose dancing is featured in the video.

“I’m not into horror, but I’ve always been intrigued by the vampire myth. The song is really about the addictive quality of passion—how it transforms you, but it’s also about my relationship with music.” –Lauren Brombert

In October 2015, award-winning artist/songwriter Lauren Brombert unleashed her newest single, “Once Bitten (Never Enough),” which won First Place in the Rock/Alt category of the Great American Song Contest—and was a finalist with a special shoutout from the judges in the UK Songwriting Contest. At its core a vampire long song, the dark-and-twisty passion-pop power ballad is also about Brombert’s relationship with music. The previous year, her alt-pop single, “Love’s Carousel,” received an “Outstanding Achievement for Songwriting” award in the 2013 Great American Songwriting Contest as a Top 5 Winner in the Adult Contemporary category.
