Des Moines band GoodcaT share their soul and folk infused video for their song Get It shot at Lefty’s. GoodcaT was born out of a spontaneous jam session in the summer of 2012, when Nels Dovre and Mark Owens needed a break from the heat of Des Moines largest music festival, 80/35. Four months later, after many more jam sessions, GoodcaT had found a name, talented electric guitarist, Ben Dixon, and the rest of their five-piece band.

“Get It is one of the band’s favorite songs to play. I love seeing the audience’s attention lock in on the stage from the moment we start the first descending chromatic riff. This song displays the multi-faceted sound of the band, featuring bluegrass influenced violin riffs, an extensive crunchy electric guitar solo and a rhythm section that transitions from a laid back groove on the verses to an upbeat subdivision on the instrumental. All of this is tied together by the message delivered by the vocals-life is meant to be experienced, so… revel.” -GoodcaT
