Staying true to his namesake, Flakes comes from the small ski town of Park City, Utah. He got his start in music as a jazz pianist, performing in various ensembles, culminating in performances at Telluride Jazz Fest and Carnigie Hall. In 2014, Flakes began his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston as an Electronic Production and Design major. Since then his style developed into an eclectic and organic, yet uncompromising electronic sound.
This summer you can see Flakes at Wayhome alongside acts like Frank Ocean, Flume, Justice, Mura Masa and Louis the Child.
“I wrote this when I was home in Utah, the mountains and snow inspired me to start this song. It’s a little different from things I’ve made before, but I had a strong desire to make a lighthearted fluttery beat, and it eventually turned into this. I hope everyone enjoys it!!” – Flakes
