Twin Temple at The Opera House

Twin Temple brought their fearless, timeless performance to Toronto for the first time on Sunday, March 3rd and in the name of Satan, it was the hottest performance in town.

While the protestors didn’t gather at the venue like they tend to do at the majority of their USA shows, the supporters sure did! Asking the crowd if that was just a “weird American thing,” to a roaring ‘YES’, stunningly captivating vocalist Alexandra James was given a taste of how welcoming Canadians can be. James and the rest of the band were greeted with nothing but glowing fans screaming at the top of their lungs from the moment the lights dimmed when they walked on stage to after the curtain closed and they gathered for the Meet and Bleed.

On tour in support of their latest phenomenal, genre-wide album, God Is Dead, Twin Temple opened the curtain with ‘Sex Magic’ and treated the crowd to an unsurprisingly magical performance before closing out the night with the title track and smash hit, God Is Dead.

Clout with societal commentary, robust instrumentals, and of course, countless praise for the Dark One, The Opera House was pervaded with an aura of acceptance and serenaded with the type of rock ‘n roll songs that are all too hard to find in this day and age. Their music is as strong as their stage performance and whether you are in your living room, practicing the craft, or in the room while they are playing it – not shaking your hips is well, just not an option.

Doing justice to iconic influences of theirs like Chuck Berry, the Misfits, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, and Roy Orbison to name a few, the Satanic doo-wop duo is nothing less than a testament to the fact that Rock ‘n Roll is in fact, NOT DEAD. Intertwining elements of punk rock, heavy metal, classic rock n’ roll, blues, and so much more, this band is just getting started and we could not be happier to have been a part of that history catching their first-ever show in Toronto.

Suffice it to say – the answer is yes if the band is presenting Toronto with the opportunity to take them up on it when they sing ‘Let’s Have A Satanic Orgy’ in our direction again. To pass up the opportunity to swim and dance in the ideologies of love, acceptance, freedom, and resistance to “society’s hypocrisy” would be foolish.
