Video Premiere: “Viva Forever”- One Hundred Moons

One Hundred Moons is a Toronto-based psychedelic band that has emerged in the Canadian music scene. Comprising of four members – Collin Young, Jen Vella, Justin Hunt, and NJ Borreta – this quartet crafts ethereal compositions that take listeners on a mesmerizing sonic journey. Their music is characterized by cascading walls of reverb drenched guitars, enchanting vocals, and hypnotic rhythms. Drawing inspiration from both the shoegaze luminaries of the past and the electronic experimentation of the future, One Hundred Moons paints a vast textured soundscape.

Today we’re excited to be teaming up with One Hundred Moons to give our readers and exclusive first look at their visually striking music video for their rendition of the Spice Girls‘ iconic hit, “Viva Forever,” 24hrs before it’s official release!

Speaking to us about the cover, drummer NJ Borreta said:

“As a fledgling band, we don’t have the budget to hire a crew to shoot a video. Thankfully, our DIY ethics and experiences prevailed from our times in our former punk, hardcore, and sludge metal bands. Having these roots in fringe and independent music taught us to be resourceful and self-reliant because we didn’t have label support nor a selection of people willing to work with non-mainstream bands. We developed these skills out of need and necessity, which was ultimately great because: we learned many practical skills; and it meant there would be less medium and individuals to filter and dilute our vision.”
