Brantley Gilbert with Cory Marquardt at The Opera House

Toronto has brought a lot of Country Stars this year to the GTA area. Thursday, October 1, 2015 was our latest with Brantley Gilbert. Newly married country singer-songwriter Brantley Gilbert continued his current tour through Toronto with two sold out shows, Thursday and Friday night performing to a packed house at the Opera House.

Brantley, coming off a short break at the end of June from his honeymoon, the high-energy Georgia country star took the stage in, well-worn Jeans, metal chains, gray T-shirt and black white ball cap.

Gilbert prides himself as being known as a country “bad boy,” not this evening as his wife; Amber Cochran made this leg of the tour.

Brantley started his career by signing to Colt Ford Label that Produced Modern Day prodigal Son. Now BG is with Valory a Division of Big Machine Records. Big Machine Records specialize in the Country Music Artist, signing to the likes of Tim McGraw, Reba and Rascal Flatts.

In 2012 BG went on Tour with Eric Church Blood Sweat and Beer Tour,  Toby Keith Live in Over Tour and 2013 Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes of Freedom Tour. 2014 Let it Ride Tour with the first leg with Thomas Rhett, Eric Paslay and the second part of the tour with Tyler Farr and Chase Bryant.

When I heard That BG was coming to Toronto, I said I had to be there. You can say another tic off my bucket list, what I was really surprised about that BG Had two sold out shows in Toronto and some USA states.

Brantley came out playing “Kick It” giving hi fives to his BG Nation. Gilbert did play my personal Favorite One Hell of An Amen (dedicated to Solders and Cancer fighters). The other song he had the nation came running back in for from the lobby was bottom up.

When you hear of artists like Brantley Gilbert going on tour the first question comes to mind , When do the tickets go on sale and second questions, who’s going to be opening?

Once I heard the name Corey Marquardt, I knew it was going to be one hell of a party. Marquardt is young, energetic and a little bit of a partier himself. Cory really would be the best fit to get any party started. I was lucky enough to see Cory perform this year at the CNE and before that Georgetown Nashville North.  Cory played Smart Phone, 21, and This Man and of course his version of Footloose.

Keep your eye on Marquardt, soon he will have a Headline tour and we will be asking our self what young kid will be opening for him.

Thanks to Live Nation Ontario for media access.
