Red Bull Sound Select took over the 6ix with #3DAYSINTO, a concert event series featuring some of Toronto’s rising stars at some of the most intimate venues the city has to offer. To commemorate the shows, Red Bull worked with local brand KOTN to create exclusive t-shirts that celebrated the iconic Honest Ed’s and Sam the Record Man, available at $10 a pop.

Those who scored tickets to the shows caught some of the best and brightest of Toronto’s music landscape, including OVO Sound’s Majid Jordan, who headlined the first night at The Great Hall. If DJs Nino Brown & Dre Ngozi weren’t spinning a mix of smooth R&B to trap to Afrobeats, then R&B singers a l l i e and Chris Larocca were painting the rich soundscapes that define the city beautifully. Red Bull got it right – these performers are certainly going to play a huge part in defining our musical identity.

Majid Jordan took the stage late into the night with a vibrant set that included songs like “King City”, “Something About You”, “Phases”, and “Her”, back up dancers included for the latter. While the very capable and talented duo have proven that they can handle any stage – including Rebel, where they’ll be performing two shows on their upcoming tour next year – it was a treat to see them in a close-knit gathering at The Great Hall. They even brought out fellow label mate Daniel Daley of dvsn, who performed “My Imagination” with Majid Jordan before chill-worthy performances of “Think About Me” and “Hallucinations”.

Given the success of the concert series, which included a Jay Electronica appearance at BADBADNOTGOOD’s Massey Hall show, and a Jazz Cartier-hosted Tory Lanez show at the Phoenix, it’s safe to say that the first #3DAYSINTO will likely not be Red Bull Sound Select’s last.
