World Premiere

Video Premiere: “The Moon” by THE NAIVE

From last year’s EP Saw the Sun, THE NAIVE return with a brand new music video for their track The Moon, filmed and directed by fellow Toronto musician Marlon Chaplin. The video shows front woman Sintja travelling around downtown Toronto in some fimaliar haunts along Queen Street, on the TTC, in Trinity Bellwoods Park being observed by an invisible bystander. The video plays overtop of Sintja’s wistful jazz vocals adding a layer of complexity to the video.

Toronto music scene collaborator (Marlon Chaplin, Freeman Dre, Ada Dahli) Sintja fronts THE NAIVE on guitar/vocals/keys, fleshed out by Alex Lakusta (bass), Brandon Wall (guitar) and Stefan Hegerat (drums). While all four contribute musically, Sintja is the principle writer and producer.

We’re having a show at The Painted Lady on Dec.5 to celebrate the release of the music video.

“To me “The Moon” music video speaks to Toronto’s pace of lifestyle from an individualistic standpoint, with the intent on showcasing it’s influence on one’s duelling relationship with themselves. Taking direction spontaneously allowed me to show two very genuine sides of myself when alone and around others, while letting Marlon Chaplin take full direction in fulfilling his vision. It was filmed as if an invisible observer was following me around the city, and to me that represents the metaphor of the moon being that observer in my song lyrics.” – Sintja of THE NIAVE

You can catch THE NIAVE at The Painted Lady on December 5th to celebrate the release of The Moon video.
