From The Artist : Last year, we were both shocked and honoured to win Bent River Records’ recording competition sponsored by CKUA Radio Network. This granted us the opportunity to work on a new full-length record with Marcus Paquin – an incredible producer who has worked with the likes of Arcade Fire, Local Natives, Stars, and The National.
Marcus was super involved and encouraging from the get-go. His personality and expertise brought something special to each song, and we are thrilled with the impact this experience has had on our sound.
In 2011, a collaboration of friends and musicians within the Edmonton skateboard community became Nature Of. Since their assembly, the band has been writing music together while constantly evolving and developing a unique and organic sound. Their new single ‘Middle Of The Morning” is the first single from their album The Mean, slated to be released in June 2019. The album was produced by Marcus Paquin.
The new song “Middle Of The Morning” is an expansive piano-pop track with sweet vocal melodies and reverb-heavy guitar riffs. The elegant unravelling of the ambient textures is always grounded by the locked-in rhythm section, creating a pocket for the heavenly production to cascade down on the listener. There’s fine details in every aspect of the song that elevates each emotional cue. Nothing is cheap or forced, the band is earning your trust with every sonic exploration. ‘Middle Of The Morning’ sets up an intriguing foundation for further musical discovery.
