Video Premiere : “That Was Then, This Is Now” – Josh Bogert feat. Olivia Penalva

Vancouver-based songwriter and pop artist Josh Bogert is an established actor who is known for his lead role as Miles Lennox in the Disney/Netflix/Family Channel original series Backstage. Josh is an accomplished, independent singer-songwriter, producer, engineer, and actor who has already garnered an impressive 10 million career streams to date and over 1.5 million views on YouTube. He has performed at some of Canada’s most iconic venues, including Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, the Scotiabank Center in Halifax, and Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

On March 31, Josh will release his effervescent new single “That Was Then, This Is Now”, featuring the wildly talented Olivia Penalva via all streaming platforms. The track is written by: Josh Bogert, Olivia Penalva, and Andrew Allen and produced by Josh. Directed by Lee Watkins and filmed at Triumph Coffee in Kelowna BC, the music video flips between Josh and Olivia, following the storyline of a couple going back to a familiar place after a break-up and feeling okay with it ending.

Today we’re very excited to be teaming up with Josh to give our readers an exclusive first look at the “That Was Then, This Is Now” music video ahead of it’s official premiere tomorrow!

Speaking about the song, Josh said “This song was really about collaboration. I had never written a song with Olivia before, but had heard of her through a mutual songwriter friend, Andrew Allen. I really love her music and voice and suggested that the three of us should get together to write a song! We ended up writing “That Was Then, This Is Now”, and both Olivia and I loved it so much we wanted to collaborate on the release, I think the lyrics have such a cool meaning, about how a relationship can be so good at one time, yet later it can feel like that magic just doesn’t exist anymore, no matter how much you want it to.”
