Haviah Mighty is ready to heat things up this summer with her new single, Huh. Melodic, genre-bending, and absolutely undeniable, Huh combines hard-hitting drums and chest-rumbling bass with sultry vocals, weaving through elements of hip-hop, house/dance, and R&B. With a lyrical theme that’s centred around melancholy, the minor chord progressions combined with the driving percussion take us from dark to light–forcing the narrator to see a new light, new people, new energies.
Produced by Haviah and Taabu, the song was curated during a long, long studio session, flipping many samples from old sessions and throwaway beats. Haviah added in a press release: “What started as a harmonized vocal sample of my own voice, combined with a couple of pre-existing demos, was eventually carved out into what Huh is today”
