Acclaimed band, Lake Street Dive, are unveiling their new song, Better Not Tell You, the latest single from their highly-anticipated new album, Good Together. Set for release June 21, the LP marks the group’s debut for Fantasy Records.
Better Not Tell You features a ’70s-funk-inspired dance instrumental with a horn section from Brooklyn-based jazz band, Huntertones. According to keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, the song draws inspiration from the heartfelt nostalgia of theatre. “The truth is, I grew up on musicals. And I love it when the two leads are about to come together for a kiss and instead of just getting to it, they do a whole song-and-dance about it,” he explains. “This is a song for one of those moments.”
