Global music icon Chaka Khan announces her first new music in over seven years with the new single ‘Chakzilla’, out now via her own imprint Earthsong Records and distributed and marketed worldwide through BMG.
The song arrives alongside a visually striking music video; the track sees her step into her full power reclaiming a city from destruction and doing so in true Chaka Khan form: full high-glam. It’s a cinematic nod to classic monster films.
Co-written with Sia and Greg Kurstin, and featuring Sia on backing vocals, the track is driven by a pulsating bassline and Chaka’s unmistakable powerhouse vocals. Infectious, joyful, and unapologetically vibrant.
“This music is about love and celebration. Being human, feelin’ good, and stepping into our power. It’s time to boogie, inside and out. Dance. Love. Live,” says Chaka.
Earlier this year, Chaka was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the GRAMMY Awards, celebrating her extraordinary 50-year career, 10 GRAMMY Award wins, and immeasurable impact on global music. In 2023, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, cementing her legacy as a true pioneer.
With a catalogue that has shaped the sound of soul, and R&B for generations, Chaka Khan’s return with ‘Chakzilla’ marks a music moment of the year.
