Toronto-based Jesse Maxwell gravitated toward music early on, studying classical piano and theory as a child, playing coffee houses in his teens, and ultimately moving to New York and joining a local blues band who put out the word that they needed a singer. Over the next 18 months, he continued to hone his chops as a songwriter and producer. We had the pleasure of teaming up with Jesse to premiere his music video for ‘nosedive’ earlier this year, and are ecstatic to be giving our readers another exclusive first look at his music video for “6“.
A highly artistic project, Jesse’s thought-provoking new music video uses imagery of drowning to represent the chaos of being lost in the feeling of anger. The video was directed by up-and-coming filmmakers Eric Kingsbury and Adrian Altobelli Toronto’s Pie in The Sky Studios.
Speaking about the video, Jesse says : “I’m so proud of this video. I feel it’s one of the most bold, eerie, and artistic works we’ve ever created. For me, this video symbolizes the relationship someone faces with their inner anger. Being allured by the fire of powerful emotions and simultaneously the isolating place that can keep you in.”
Jesse will be performing at Toronto’s Bar Cathedral on Friday November 4th. Tickets for the show can be found here.
