World Premiere

Video Premiere : “nosedive” – Jesse Maxwell

Toronto-based singer / songwriter / producer, Jesse Maxwell, gravitated toward music early on, studying classical piano and theory as a child, playing coffee houses in his teens, and ultimately moving to New York and joining a local blues band who put out the word that they needed a singer. Over the next 18 months, he continued to hone his chops as a songwriter and producer.

Energized by his experiences writing and performing in New York, after returning to Toronto he put a band together and released his debut album, Radio Silence (Trans Phatt Records) in May 2020. The record garnered substantial play on SiriusXM and soon racked up in excess 300k streams on Spotify. Maxwell fed his growing audience’s hunger for his fresh take on Pop/Alternative R&B with Hellion, a 6-song EP released in early 2021, and went straight to work on LP2 as a means of pushing himself to evolve as an artist, as usual, at high speed.

Today, we are very excited to be teaming up with Jesse to give our readers an exclusive first look at his music video for ‘nosedive’, check it out below!

Directed by Eric Kingsbury and Adrian Altobelli in Toronto, Ontario, the music video for “nosedive” is an artistic reflection of Jesse’s past struggles with addiction from the perspective he’s gained in over six years of sobriety. Depicting the dichotomy of a high and comedown, the music video pulls viewers into Jesse’s world as he journeys through a twisted night under the influence.

“I was blessed to be able to work with such an incredible crew. I came up with the idea for the general storyline for this video and Eric Kingsbury and Adrian Altobelli really made it come to life. I was initially hesitant about my idea, I tend to be very difficult on my own ideas, but with all these minds working on it, I found a lot of confidence in it. The video is sexy, dark, real and a beautiful display of artistic expression that greatly compliments the audio experience and message of the song.” says Jesse.
