April Toronto Music and Concert Tip Sheet

Huh, I could have sworn I did one of these this year but it turns out there have been no Tip Sheets in 2018. To be fair, I was pretty busy with my Contra Zoom podcast and well just lazy. It must have been the cold weather. Thankfully the ice has finally thawed and I have come out of hibernation. There are a ton of cheap club shows this month that I had a really hard time narrowing it down to just 10! I could have done a whole second sheet with 10 other hot tickets, maybe another time as I still have sleep in my eyes.

His latest release Hundred Acres is a beautiful record, and anyone that is a fan of Justin Vernon’s early work should check S. Carey out.

He looks to join the current crop of great alt-country acts like Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell in becoming a household name.

Will Wiesenfeld, who records under the name Baths is a hard artist to pin down. He makes electronic music that is a bit hard to dance to but also isn’t quite ambient in nature. The producer put out his 4^th album in November after a four year hiatus so this will be a hotly anticipated gig.

The danced up duo put out an EP two years ago and will be putting out their debut album Treehouse later this month. Expect to hear new songs and their currently hit single Best Friend.
