From The Artist : “Everyone has had a “94 Corolla” moment in their life.
What is that? It’s a major turning point or event that plays out in a familiar space – it could be your car, bedroom, office, kitchen, anywhere. In fact, we have multiple “94 Corolla” moments throughout our lives. I love this idea because it’s so universally understood and relevant.
“94 Corolla” was co-produced/co-written by Jonathan Zarola, who goes under the musical moniker UNBLOOM. When Jon and I first met, it was instant chemistry. We worked so hard to bring you the final product you hear today, and we couldn’t be more proud of it.
We really pushed the envelope in terms of creativity, and most importantly, we had fun doing it. From writing the first verse to years after a release, music is nothing if you can’t enjoy every bit of the process. It’s different every time.
The “94 Corolla” is not just a car—it’s a symbol of a life that will be forever changed.”
In many ways, Connor Morand has broken his own barriers throughout his musical journey. Originally born in London, Ontario, Morand developed an appreciation for all musical genres very quickly. Beginning as a folk artist, he searched to find his own artistic identity while still maintaining his love of diversity.
His newest single, “94 Corolla”, is a hip-hop infused pop track that explores the idea of life’s biggest moments happening in familiar, average spaces. There’s a throwback to new jack swing in the beat with touches of elastic funk and candy coated pop, all infused with anthemic modern production. Each vocal line summons up true emotion, a sensation that will easily have the hairs sticking up on the back of your neck. The gospel choir doesn’t hurt either.
Confident and expertly composed, “94 Corolla” is the summer clarion call to raise your arms up in the air and sing along. Whether you’re in your car, on the side of a mountain, or just walking down the street, you’ll want to feel this energy as long as you can.
