From The Artist : My highschool experience was a hard time for me, and that inspired the song. Jesse Weinman. The recording experience was comfortable, I didn’t feel under stress and I felt motivated. I want people to walk away understanding how difficult highschool was for me, and maybe help them understand another person’s story.
I was trying to capture the feeling of hitting rock bottom. I wanted to tell the story of how badly I just wanted people to leave me alone.
Saskatchewan’s Next Star winner Katie Morgan has release her debut pop-rock single ‘Leave’. Katie wrote the single with industry veteran Jesse Weiman, who also took on production duties for the song. It’s a deeply personal and autobiographical song, capturing the feeling of hitting rock bottom and not knowing where to go next.
As a performer, her powerful vocals and high energy performance has grabbed the attention of fans and industry alike. Touring with her band, she has headlined The Grand Slam of Curling and played shows including International Women’s Day celebrations across Saskatchewan.
With a recent signing to Johnson Talent Management (Toronto, ON.) and a synchronization deal through Brewhouse Music (Los Angeles, California), there is a bright future ahead.
