Video Premiere : “Dancing on the Edge” – Chris Grey & Allegra Jordyn

Toronto-based singer/songwriter/producer Chris Grey is getting ready to release his new EP ‘Together, but Barely‘ tomorrow, and we’re excited to be teaming up with him to give our readers an exclusive first look at his music video for “Dancing on the Edge”.

Speaking on the video, Grey said “I wanted the video to capture the beauty but also sadness that the song represents. The video went through a lot of different versions before we landed on this. We started taking ballroom dance lessons at one point to prep for the video but we ended up modifying that idea into a more fun, casual dance. The night before the shoot there was a last-minute cancellation, so we had to scramble to reschedule everything but it ended up giving me time to refine the idea a bit which was good. My favourite shot from the video is probably the shot of me at the Wurlitzer on stage. The room wasn’t really dark enough so we had to do a lot of work to get it to look like that.”

More about the song : “Dancing On The Edge was one of the last tracks I wrote for my EP. I knew I wanted to bring some closure to the project. Allegra and I wrote this song before we had fully started dating. We had been talking about how our past relationships ended which inspired this song. I think writing this song closed that chapter for us and helped us start a new one together. Initially, we had written it as a solo song for me but eventually realized it worked a lot better as a duet!”
