Take A Listen To Haviah Mighty’s New Single ‘Pursuit Remix’ ft. Poiison

Haviah Mighty, Toronto multi-award-winning artist, DJ, producer and recent JUNO nominated artist (Rap Single of The Year 2024 for Double The Fun), drops her first single of the year, Pursuit Remix ft. Poiison. Available everywhere now via Mighty Gang Inc., the single features Queen’s New York innovative artist and songwriter, Poiison, who’s known for blending pop, soul, and sharp hip-hop lyricism. Alongside Haviah, the two artists came together across the border to deliver some serious HEAT! The original Pursuit Freestyle dropped last November and today’s remix channels the momentum, hunger and enthusiasm required to hunt down your dreams, continually, over and over again.

“Just over a year ago, an important member of my team left the music business. This stunted my output, caused me major pause, and slowed down my momentum,” explains Haviah. “The pause gave me rest, but also restlessness. In that time, I had to accept stagnancy. I had to be very patient. I had to allow my doubts and fears to exist, and live in that discomfort … I didn’t know what was going to happen, and I simply had to wait.”

The universe then responded in the months that passed for Haviah. She authentically aligned with new individuals who worked in the same sector of the music industry and before long, she was back in the momentum of creating music.

“In contrast to the pause I took, which was necessary but not a choice, I fell back into doing what I love everyday. But this time, I had new perspectives, new opinions, new strategy, new approaches, new producers, new hunger … It feels good to ‘chase’ my dreams again,” says Haviah. “Pursuit is Round 2. Pursuit is the new pace. And after the November drop, I’m back with a remix featuring NY Queens rapper Poiison.”

“When I first heard the original Pursuit and through connected loops, we decided to do the remix. The song was already perfect, so when I listened, my goal was to figure out how I could bring myself into an already perfectly created song,” says Poiison. “I did what I do best: I talked my Queens fly shhh melodically. I linked up with Haviah in Toronto, which was literally cold, and we shot a movie and had an amazing night. Simple 1-2-3: connecting and making great records. Such a pleasure, such a talented soul.”
