Palco is the sophomore single off of Monica Cefis‘ fully Kickstarter funded album, Dreamed a Little Dream. It is written in homage to the artists’ hometown of Montreal and its up and coming venue Bar Palco. The video was recorded and shot by Current Sessions Production in the bar that gives the song its namesake.
In true french-canadian fashion, the tune’s bilingual poem works hand in hand with a sultry gypsy jazz inspired melody to charm its’ listeners. Cefis’ band of misfit musicians, namely Sean Brennan, Pietro Gennezi Chris Gleckman, Pietro Gennezi, Seamus Guy, and Mattia Zuchelli, met in Boston at Berklee College of Music and stem from the west to the east coast all the way to Italy.
