From The Artist: “My songs are based on life experiences and how life can come at you in full force. This song was inspired by my very first songwriting trip to Nashville. On the long drive down from Ottawa, my twin brother Thomas told me how much he enjoyed driving through the night and into the sunrise. That’s where the hook originated. Once I got to Nashville, I connected with two amazing songwriters, Phil Barton and Jason Matthews. In Jason’s studio next to Warner Chapel on Music Row, we fleshed it out before my producer, Jason Barry, developed it into the song it is today. ‘Driving in the Dark’ is an energetic, upbeat song to make you smile while you’re on a summer drive. It recalls the good vibes, excitement, and adventure that comes from the early feelings of being in love.”
Now living in Nashville, Amanda Jordan is a featured songwriter and performer on the popular Nashville Songbird Tour Bus. She also writes with notable writers such as Daniel Ross (Florida Georgia Line), Abram Dean (Madeline Merlo), Rick Huckaby (Thomas Rhett), and Ty Graham (Eric Ethridge).
She’ll return to Canada for shows at the Perth Fair on September 1st followed by a Diamonds at the Rough showcase on September 7th in Calgary during Canadian Country Music Week.
“Driving in the Dark” will be released to Canadian country radio on September 30th and it will be accompanied by additional Canadian live shows in October.
