Corpse Paint Sheet Masks Are Now A Thing, And Also a Perfect Gift for That One Metalhead in Your Life.

Honestly, it feels like my two favourite things have finally collided: beauty products and metal. I first encountered Kaamos Cosmetics while they still operated under the name ‘Corpse Paint Soaps’ on Etsy and were exclusively selling these adorable hand soaps based off of iconic face paint worn by metal giants such as Papa Emeritus III of Ghost, Seregor of Carach Angren, and Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth. I purchased the Papa III soap (pictured) and instantly fell in love. The scent was supposed to be Frankincense, but reminded me a lot like Pinesol, and it was quiet enjoyable. I found the soap lasted about a month of daily use to wash my hands and was pretty over the moon about finally having a little bit of my favourite band just hanging out in the washroom. It also didn’t dry out my hands like some bar soaps tend to do.

Naturally, as soon as I saw the kickstarter for their new Corpse Paint sheet masks, I just had to order some. I bought the 4 pack that came with a cute enamel pin for 19,85 €, with 14,00 € for shipping (They now retail for 33,95 for the 4 pack, and I’m not sure what the shipping is like). On top of that, JP Ahonen, the mastermind behind the beloved Belzebubs comics that revolve around a fictional black metal band, also designed the packaging. I really enjoyed the attention to detail.

The masks themselves were very hydrating, and I liked how soft and smooth my skin felt after wearing them and massaging the excess serum into my skin, the serum also did not leave back any sticky residue like some sheet masks tend to do. It was overall a very fun experience.

The Kaamos Cosmetics website carries both the original Corpse Paint Soaps + Sheet Masks, along with a few new products in the works that are currently up for pre-order such as a bath robe and hair wrap. All of the products are a bit on the pricier side, but in my opinion it’s 100% worth it if you want to give your washroom a little metal flair or if you’re looking for a unique gift for that one metal head in your life. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of the soaps and masks in the future for myself and to gift to my friends this holiday season.
