Radiohead: Song for the Last World War 1 Veteran

By Andrew Tomayer

So, with Radiohead, they usually have a distinct sense of sound. They like to change up things when you least expect it and when they do you are struck with amazement going, “wow, how did they manage to do that and still sound so amazing?!” The same goes for this song. As a testament to the passing of the last world war 1 vet, Harry Patch, who passed away on June 25 at the age of 111. They gave a quite classical tune to the world with the distinct howlings of Thom Yorke. The band forged something honourable for a legend like Harry Patch and their song “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)” will be remembered by many as a respectable tune for a respectable soul. Congratulations on tugging at our heart-strings as per usual and I would continue to go on about this song, but you should just listen for yourself and let us know how you felt about it when you heard it.

The song is available for download for 1 Pound (which is about $1.80 Canadian) off of http://download.waste.uk.com/Store/did.html

All proceeds from this track go to the Royal British Legion.
