The Followill clan out of Nashville, Tennessee better known as Kings of Leon played to a capacity crowd last night at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The band consisting of brothers Caleb (vocals, guitar), Jared(bass), Nathan(drums) and cousin Mathew(guitar) started their hour and a half long set with “Crawl” and “Notion” before breaking into some older material which included “Taper Jean Girl”, “Molly’s Chambers” and “Milk”.
The band even broke out a cover midway through the set: The Pixies classic “Where is My Mind?” They followed that up with a fan assisted “Sex on Fire”. The capacity crowd joined in for a sing along after Caleb buttered them up calling them “One of the best crowds on the tour” and mentioned he’d been drinking a lot of whiskey to battle a cold. KOL fans did not disappoint. Their voices could be heard to almost drown out the band while they danced in the aisles.

The Followill boys ended off the night with “Knocked Up”, “Use Somebody” and “Black Thumbnail”. The success of “Only by the Night” has kept the band quite busy touring over the last couple of years. However they have started recording their next album and promise something a little “darker” a return to their roots. Should be fun.
