6: Agah Bahari / Grammys

Agah Bahari is an Iranian composer, guitarist, producer and sound designer. He also happens to be a voting member of the GRAMMY and JUNO awards. Sean and Andreas talk to him this week about how his musical career began, his early morning Zen meditation routine and the state of the music industry today. Agah encourages new artists to do their own music, social media and marketing instead of trying to get signed to a label.

  • Agah discusses his early life and getting banned from Iran
  • He reveals what the voting process involves at the Grammys
  • Sean, Andreas and Agah all predict who will win what category awards, it looks like it will be the year of our Lorde, pun intended
  • Agah talks about his favourite concerts of 2013: Yes, Megadeth and Meshuggah
  • Discussing the damage MTV has done on the music/entertainment industry
  • Agah highly recommends checking out Tom Nazziola, Ricky Kej and Bonobo
