Jess Glynne at Adelaide Hall

UK’s newest rising star, Jess Glynne proves she’s no one hit wonder as she performs to a sold out crowd at Adelaide Hall on September 21, 2015. Glynne first caught the attention of music listeners with her feature on Clean Bandit’s tracks, “Real Love” and “Rather Be”.  The songs had critics fawning over Glynne’s vocals, making it clear that she’s the one to watch for this year. Now, back from major throat surgery with the release of her full-length debut I Cry When I Laugh, Glynne delivers a radiant performance that keeps ticket buyers wanting more.

The show started with “Ain’t Got Far to Go”, a feel-good-upbeat number which set the perfect tone for the night. Next up Glynn performed the two Clean Bandit’s tracks that skyrocket her to the top of the charts. Her voice sounded vibrant in the tight spaced venue and the crowd sang along to those famous tunes.

During the set Glynne took some time to make sure everyone was alright as the venue turned into a fiery furnace. The crowd responded with a resounding cheer, letting Jess know the heat wasn’t going to stop their fun. Glynne and her band whipped through tracks featured on her debut which sounds like 90’s Brit pop with a disco theme (“No Rights No Wrong” and “You Can Find Me” are prime examples).  The harmonies between Glynne and her two backs- up vocalists were on point and added a rich element to the performance.

Overall the audience couldn’t get enough of Jess’ powerhouse vocals. Her performance was effortless and beautifully put together. It’s only a matter of time before Jess joins the star-studded list of UK artists who has become pop royalty in our city. Glynne closed out strong with a stellar performance of her hit single “Hold My Hand”.
