Beliefs at the Garrison

Last Thursday night, Toronto’s own Beliefs took the stage to mark the release of their fantastic sophomore effort, Leaper (out this week, via Hand Drawn Dracula records.) Enlisting the help of members of opener, Vallens, the band blistered through a brief 40 minute set, focusing almost entirely on the new material.

Perhaps due to the new members not being overly familiar with the older material, or not wanting to take away from the focus on Leaper, it left those wanting to hear their older stuff a little disappointed. Hopefully a proper tour behind the album, and some time for the new members to learn their earlier songs will make for a more enticing reason for people to go see them next time around.
